Join Bear, Mole, and their friend Skunk at the market—and see how far a dime can get you. Bear's fresh-picked blueberries are a hit on Market Day—but Skunk and Mole have trouble attracting any customers. To drum up interest they switch places and sample each other's wares. Skunk delights in spritz after spritz of her own perfume—each one costing a dime—while Mole eats handfuls of the worms he gathered, paying Skunk one dime apiece.

At the end of the day, the two friends have sold out—but somehow they've only got a dime between them! Luckily, Bear made enough dimes to buy them some ice cream to share—topped with the last of his blueberries. Will Hillenbrand's Bear and Mole series is the perfect choice for storytime sharing or reading aloud. Strong verbs, repetitive phrases, and fun-to-read sounds keep young listeners and readers engaged with the story, while the gentle illustrations add detail and quiet humor. Kids will delight in poring over these books again and again. Don't miss the other Bear and Mole titles, including Off We Go!, Spring is Here, and First Star!
