Which children’s science book fits the child’s age and reading mode?

Choose My First Encyclopedia for shared reading and conversation with toddlers and preschoolers, Weird Sea Creatures for independent beginning readers ages 6–8, and DK Super Readers Level 4 Save Energy, Save Earth for confident independent readers ages 9–11 in Grades 4–5. The encyclopedia offers broad coverage without a calibrated independent-reading level; Weird Sea Creatures provides Level 2 guidance focused on marine animals; and the DK title provides an 800L–1010L range but concentrates on energy and Earth.
